Lakeview Orchestra Concert - The IRREPRESSIBLE SEVENTH Symphony

Lakeview Orchestra invites you to the first indoor concert performances for audiences at the Athenaeum Theatre since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The performance, entitled The IRREPRESSIBLE SEVENTH Symphony: Music to Overcome Troubles and Celebrate Reopening, will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Athenaeum Theatre (2936 N Southport Ave, Chicago).

Symphonic Variations on an African Air by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor will open the concert, followed by hornist Matthew Bronstein performing Richard Strauss’ Horn Concerto No. 1. Following an intermission, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 will be performed to conclude the program. Lakeview Orchestra Artistic Director Gregory Hughes will conduct.

Attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination or negative test upon arrival at the Athenaeum Theatre. All patrons are required to wear face coverings at all times regardless of vaccination status, including while seated during the performance. All Lakeview Orchestra performers are fully vaccinated and will be masked during the concert, with exception for woodwind and brass musicians while actively playing.

Tickets begin at $21 for Adult Main Floor seating and $26 for Adult Balcony seating, and special pricing is available for seniors, students, and groups of ten (10) or more. Tickets are on sale at lakevieworchestra.org/tickets.
